have you looked into the strap you can buy that allows you to lift off one of the wheels? ok not much good if you are changing the tyre but least you cud use an axle stand under your axle then remove the hi-lift?

just a thought/option

Another good idea Jake
Wonder if i could also use it on the tow bar to lift the rear.
Put the hooks through the spare holes in the tow bar plate.

I have a detachable towbar fitted which I usually leave off unless I need it. The square section hole for bolted to the chassis is a good high lift point on the back... assuming you have the defender extension on the high lift.
