Sorry to hear that Patrick but it does seem to be the current state of affairs.

I was only talking about this with my wife the other night and said the only reason we can afford to keep the 110 is because it is a toy and only gets driven once a week if I'm lucky.

The rest of the week I've got the company van and she doesnt drive.

I'm facing the same problem. I lucky enough to have my own house but EVERYTHING is going up except my wages...!!! Even though my other half lives with me and contributes to the bills I'm really starting to struggle... :(

I only use my Disco to go to and from work every other week as a friend and I car share but it still costs me £60 - £70 a week when I do drive...!!!! not to mention using the Disco for personal transport

I'm now in a difficult situation as I want to buy a cheap run about to save me having to use the Disco but I can't save any money to buy one so I'm in a bit of a catch 22 situation. I've even started to look at the things I own but don't use that I could sell to free up some spare cash...!!!

I wonder how much the going rate is for a kidney nowadays...lol

delivery driving at weekends is a good sideline cash supply at £50 a weekend, use about £10 fuel so £40 up, agreed you wouldnt want to do it for long as working weekends kills your social life unless you have a mate that works the same, i worked fri and sat for two years and that paid off the landy and fuel untill i decided to give it up and go out and now have no money, catch 22 again

we are looking into an electric car to share between the family especially with only £0 road tax per year, could work

I propose we stand up with the Lorry drivers, as a club, and join the protesters' convoy next time they are out on the roads.

I'm only able to hold on to mine, 'cause I'm staying with my folks, and don't have the upkeep of a house to worry about.

On another point, being single, I'd rather live in my Defender, than pay the local authorities Poll Tax.

burgerman:
