I propose we stand up with the Lorry drivers, as a club, and join the protesters' convoy next time they are out on the roads.
I'm only able to hold on to mine, 'cause I'm staying with my folks, and don't have the upkeep of a house to worry about.
On another point, being single, I'd rather live in my Defender, than pay the local authorities Poll Tax.

Why dont you look for a cheap sj for pay and break days? a nice little trailer included for less than a £500 cant be bad IMO

I plan to, but are going to try to get some cash in the bank first.
discomummy:
Hi,
seven months ago we decided that, as himself had got a new job requiring him to use his car daily, i would have to get another car to drive as the disco would be too expensive as a daily drive.
so we bought pugsley, a peugeot 407 sw 1.6 diesel, (which cost £55 to fill the tank at that time) and does approx 48 to the gallon compared to Sonar the disco which does approx 15 (down hill with a good wind behind)
now, pugsley costs £72 to fill, a rise of £17 in seven months.
we are lucky that we can afford to keep three cars on the road, but i have to say that we no longer go out to visit places on a sunday as the fuel cost is getting too much - as i am sure many others have stopped, consequently affecting tourism.
both me and himself require cars to get to our workplaces as the public transport in our village is just about non existant. i know people have made comments before about get a job nearer home or live nearer work, but we live half way between both jobs as we work in opposite directions, and there are no jobs nearer home for us.
however, i refuse to give up sonar, as when i drive her, it just feels right :D
regards
ela
