Fuel prices

<< < (6/7) > >>

I'm still using the Disco every day for my 40 mile round trip to work... I've thought about the idea of a eurobox but at the moment I can't afford the capital outlay... :(

I run the disco on 60/40 Diesel/SVO, so at least that knocks a few pece off the silly diesel prices.. I was thinking about a proper veg oil twin tank set up but the price of Veg oil has risen so much I don't think its worth it. :|

I'm also hoping for a promotion within the next 9 months that will come with a company car, and possibly a fuel card, so i'm holding out to see if that happens... :P

i`m also considering it, although i`m going for a petrol.... Volvo T5! then save up for the LPG conversion... very reluctant! :(

what can you do, you protest, the government makes up laws to stop you protesting.... maybe a european court would lead somewhere.. but who can afford to drive to europe to go to court?!

Bush Tucker Man:
Just today I've noticed a variation in pricing locally

There's as much as a 9p/litre differential!

Well, the supermarkets buy the half life fuel from the refineries, thats how they can sell it cheaper, then the proper fresh fuel goes to the likes of BP, Shell, Esso etc.  You do get more miles to the tank of non-supermarket fuel, but then you do pay more for it!!!

Some people say the fuel is exactly the same wherever you buy it.....remember the fuel problems a few years back, clogging the lambda sensor, that only originated from supermarket fuel stations!!!!

Funny isn't it!!!

Slowly switching over to 100%  for the summer. The thing is, there are not many vehicles that can tow 2.5 tonnes plus legally - what do you do?

I know the feeling, It is now costing me over £60  a week just to visit the horses daily and commute. I am now having to think hard about selling the Disco and trailer  as nothing else can tow the weight and be more economical on daily runs. Bang goes the horse shows and helping the elderly neighbours when the get stuck on our hill. I know what I would like to do to Gordon Brown and it would not be pleasant
