X-brake - annoying noise

we have that type of brake on jcb machines and pad rattle is a common thing with them, we very often have the calipers off and just stick the thinner pad into the housing using either silicon type sealant or similar, its also common for the caliper to float on its slider pins on the versions which dont have orings on the slider pins which then means they chatter against the brake disc, if the pad is chattering against the disc you usually find it wears unevenly as it leans on the disc when running

good info - I think it's a case of chatter for me.

will check mine as it also has started to rattle ,i put some foam pipe lag on cable works a treat .stop banging on seat box
