Vulcan bomber to fly today?

<< < (5/6) > >>

Range Rover Blues:
Quite frankly I'm pretty P***ed of with the whole damned country at the moment.  My wife is in a wheelchair because she has Chronic Fatigue, she's still trying to hold down a job and pay her taxes but to make life a little easier we applied for a blue badge so that when I take her out (she's not up to driving) I don't have to stuggle getting the chair out of the car or push it for miles to get where we're going.

Well aparently social services don't regard her as dissabled.  The woman behind the counter took great pleasure in telling us that her "freind" had ME and had recovered.

Well Whoppe F***ING DOO for her, in the meantime we have to struggle because the illness that my wife suffers from does not exist in the petty little minds of some knobhead beurocrats who probably couldn't find their backside with a map, let alone understand the complexities of medical health.

So sod the lot of them, when I'm finished paying tax to keep the fat bitch behind her counter with the nice clock on the wall to watch over my shoulder because it was 10 minutes to her going home time I'll spend my money on what I sodding well please and if that is to support a relic of a long ended war then so be it. After all it helped defend my right to choose where I spend my money didn't it?

If my wife were an albanian single mother with no grasp of the english language then she's be set for life in this country, sure I'd like to see us take better care of our veterans, pay our teachers and our nurses more money (anybody who thinks they don't deserve better pay should just try doing the job first) and pay our politicians a damned sight less, but it's not a perfect world and we can't fix it overnight.

Not wishing to be too pedantic but it didn't bomb Port Stanley ... just the airfield outside of the town.

Not sure the islanders would have been too pleased to have been bombed by the people supposedly trying to liberate them

It's also important to remember the times we are best rid of so that we don't inadvertently repeat the same mistakes and end up there again. History has a habit of repeating itself ... with man's assistance, of course  :D

I agree.... this country wastes public money like it's going out of fashion. But surely the point is that it isn't 'this country' that funded the project? It was the public either directly with the charity or indirectly by buying lottery tickets.

I saw the last flight at some airshow when i was a lad.

I remember it doing a banked flypast with 'GoodBye' painted on the inside of the bomb bay doors.....

Anyone know where that would have been?
