 I have had only 1 vehicle running since I bought the Tomb-Rover 6½ years (I have an V12 XJS in garden where it's been since I bought Tomb-Rover). I found it has made me think a lot more about what I'm doing when I'm playing rather only doing things that seems sensible and trying technics that are less damaging to the vehicle (environment). I have only one occasion that I have missed work because of off-roading (import as I'm a contractor so no holiday or sick pay) went into a ford that look OK (No depth Marker) turned out to be level bottom of windscreen sent the Electron silly for 24 hours (not TD5 ECU, but aftermarket satalite tracking system and electronic split charge system). Had a 109 and early Range Rover on the road in past at the same time you could guaranty if one broke down the other would break down in sympathy so I gave up and stuck to 1 vehicle and had less trouble. I work at Jaguar Land-Rover in Gaydon so turning up to work in mucky vehicle is not a problem, not married so can't say about Mother-in-law bit at the moment :lol:.

Only 1 vehicle, for both work and play. The only problem is if it breaks getting the parts has to be by post, so it can take a couple of days before I get to fix it. So I try to keep it in one piece and avoid anything that will cause major problems. But will still make her earn her car tax costs!

Have found the more you pay on toys, the more money she demands in niggling little faults!

Use one vehicle for playing and commuting, pay no road tax and naff all insurance.  Copes quite well, occasional upsets but it is 35years old.  Doesn't really do 'smart' though :lol:
Strictly speaking I have two roadworthy vehicles but the 101 doesn't get out much.

Mines used for play, work & pleasure.  Used to run a second motor but just couldn't justify 2 lots of road tax, insurance n mot, :-k so sold the car. :D Have been running on bio-diesel now for a couple of weeks and now its playing up :doh: Have changed fuel filter today...lets hope its just that. [-o<

I have the one motor it gets abused off road then come tuesday its off on a 180 mile round trip to work and back along the a50 and m6 at 70mph. and its a v8
