fao them as only have one motor
lambert:
I know some cars are intrinsically tougher than others but in general terms....
if you only have one car how do you find it holds up to use offroad and then the commute?
do you find that inspite of cleaning it out after every day out playing, that when you need to be somewhere smart,eg the mother-in-laws, you are invariably covered in a light layer of dirt?
do you find that because you need it on monday you don't play as hard as your mates with two cars, when out on a weekend?
do you find that it seems to have aged prematurely because of going offroad, over and above other non offroader cars you have owned?
this is prompted by me wondering if I really need twice the road tax and insurance that comes from having two cars.

If it's well maintained you shouldnt have any problems, just keep on top of the maintaince...If it breaks fix it job done
Work hard play hard as they say..

i run a 110 landrover and use it daily for a 60mile round trip to work then i offroad it as much i can as i live on salisbury plain so i always take my short cut home :D  i have had a hybrid v8 and pug car and in the end it did not make sense in my mind to insure two cars and tax them and if one breaks you have to fix it then sods law the other will break  so i went back to driving a landy everyday and it never lets me down.
Lord Shagg-Pyle:
I use mine for both work and play. The dirt is not an issue, as most of it on the inside is horse related, so when SWMBO starts to quack about the mess, I offer her the chance to clean 'her' horse mess out out of it. That tends to stop the argument.
Saying that, I'm just about to start a new posting that is cycling distance from home, so that should cut down on the fuel costs, which will be a big bonus. I might even apply for limited mileage insurance! :D
