To read it is amusing but as stated above they are there to do a job not to see how many gamnes they can play during a shift. Had there been a requirement for them to attend a call then it would have been very questionable, my thing is through why didnt there control realise they were for one not in radio contact or that they had in effect disappeared.
Could have started a big police hunt had it gone horribly wrong

by the sound of it there was only 1 car on a day trip at the time, so there would be more on duty to help poeple,
but half the time when you need them they dont turn up for a day or so anyway.lol
