While I have made a couple of replies to the post, I will just add that I do agree with the last couple of comments. It is potentially putting peoples lives at risk and being employed to do a responsible job, means just that. The actions of a couple of numpties has cast a bad light on all other officers.
I am surprised by the fact that their vehicle would appear not to be fitted with an in car data recorder/satelite locator system, as all ours are. If it was, then why wasn't that picked up earlier?
Waste of a job and pension. More fool them.

We used to have a great game when I was working in an outdoor centre in Scotland. On the weekends that there was no work we would each hitch hike away from the centre as far as we could and get back in time for work on Monday
To prove where you had been you had to send a postcard back to the centre. It was great fun with postcards coming from Glasgow, Edinburgh etc, we even had one lad reach London. Then me and a mate got the furthest.....we got to France by getting a lift in an artic!! Unfortunately we lost as we didn't make it back in time for work
