I took my test in my Mum's 1965 Morris 1100 - DTT 784C (how's that for a memory!).
Great thing to learn in, but of course then you discovered Ford and there was no contest.

As I remember it, the biggest failing with Ford back then was the cold starting. On a cold morning you could almost hear the starters mashing themselves to pieces while the old A and B series BMC engines would just fly into life!

Ho hum, nostalgia's not what it used to be.

my wife used to have an opel kadett SR . it was a 1977 R reg, TVD400R   , it looked like a chevette apart from the from being different - alos had sports seats, loads of clocks in the centre consol like ammter, oil presure etc... and a full lenght sunroof (webasto?)

gonna try and find some pics of it as it was quite rare even back then.

Wasn't it the Kadett that spawned the Chevette? or am I mistaken?
