Rarities On The Road

(1/29) > >>

Bush Tucker Man:
I bought the new issue (April) of 'Practical Classics' today on a whim, as it had a ncie Rover SD1 on the cover

http://www.practicalclassics.co.uk/index.php

In it, it runs down the rarest cars on Britains roads.
Some of them make for alarming reading, especially when you think;
You used to have one
A neighbour had one
I only saw one last month, etc.............

In Reverse Order;
Fiat Strada (78 - 88);  78 left
Renault 16 (65 - 80);  63 left
Vauxhall Viscount (65 - 72);  46 left

Matra-Simca Rancho (77 - 85);  10 left

Alfa-Romeo Alfa 6 (79 - 86);  6 left
Chrysler 2-Litre (70 - 82);  5 left
Lancia Trevi (80 - 84);  5 left
Chrysler Horizon (77 - 79);  4 left
Fiat 133 (74 - 82);  4 left
Mitsubishi Tredia (82 - 90);  4 left
FSO 125P (67 - 91);  3 left
Lada 1300 (74 - 81);  3 left

Datsun 1300 (68 - 73);  1 left
Audi 80S (72 - 78);  1 left
Mazda R100 (68 - 73);  1 left (what??)
Dacia Denem(69 - 83);   1 left! (thankfully - was this the Renault 12 copy??)

NB; Presumably this is examples still registered & on the DVLA data-base, not incomplete vehicles/donors/scrap-yard rescues, etc.................

Tommo:
if its 'on the road' then i should imagine its taxed and insured and the lot, probs double that figure left, who taxes their classic in the winter if its not free???
