i have had this problem before but never found the cause. it only happens when using motoway for decent length of time,
the pictures explain them selves....

please bear in mind that the engine cannot be worn inside badly because it has only done 20,000 miles at the most, and the filler cap is a good tight fit
cheers kieran

That black plastic thing at the left of the picture is an oil seperator, the hose goes to the air filter.
The seperator needs a good clean regularly, and the hose looks like it might be shot, allowing it to collapse under the suction of the turbo.
I tend not to reconnect them at the air filter end after cleaning as a head-gasket failure will dump the engine oil into the intake and may cause a destructive runaway! Just make sure you cap the stub on the air filter if you do the same.

Niel.

kizz81:
neil,
i have oil running through that "worn pipe" is that not good?

cheers kieran

extreme90:
a little oil is normal
oil running out is not so good

kizz81:
what are the chances that after 20,000miles the head gasket would be wearing out?

chers kieran

L90OOK:
To be honest very little unless you have done something like overheat the engine?
Why do you suspect the head gasket?
