rear prop rubber gater.... which way round?????
disco-v8:
dont worry ive already thought about changing to a UJ prop but as ive got this rubber dough nut just sitting here, i mase well use it and hope for the best..... if it rips again then will be defo changing props around
and as dan has said.... its got a 6" lift :-o
just checked for those arrows on the edge and it still doesnt help me???????
just think about it.... al its telling you is which way the bolts go through..it doesnt tell you which part of the prop shaft joins to which part of the dough nut....... also the arrows dont realy say which way the bolts go through..... do the go in the end they point at or do they have to be pushed in the way its pointing
still need more help on this guys
J13 MUD:
I am very interested in this post, spent today at Whaddon and got this really bad vibration on the way home. My rear prop doughnut was exactly like the one in the first picture. Removed rear prop and got home. The question is with a 2" lift would a 200tdi prop with a four bolt flange work?
One last question, I have a spare 300tdi front diff, could I replace the 3 bolt doughnut flange in my rear diff with the 4 bolt flange from my spare front diff?
Thanks guys and apologies for jumping in on this post.

it would be easier to change the complete diff
at the flange is a royal b****** to get off at times
ChrisW:
IF you can get the peg out of the diff you can unbolt the flange and swap it for the flange from the front diff and fit a 200 rear prop, works much better for me with 2" lift, although we swapped the rear diff for a front diff complete as the old diff was fubar'd.

well ive just looked at my parts CD to see if it helps, and guess what
IT DID!!!!!
well i couldnt copy the picture across so took a picture of it instead to show and help others......
i realy thought that pulling onthe thick part of the dough nut would have been the correct way but this shows otherwise.......
just goes to show that somethings arent as easyily understandable as you may think!!!!!
