Vegtable/Cooking oil, who runs it? Any Advice?
tjolliffe:
Hi all, I want to run my 200tdi engine on Vegtable oil or cooking oil. Does anyone do this, what do you use, vegtable oil or cooking oil? What % mix should I use? Also whats the law surrounding use of it?
Cheers

JUST SUCK IT AND SEE MATE, you will get that many different opinions on here your headwill explode, start at 50/50 and mix more veg oil every tank till it ticks over rough then back off a bit, by the sumer it COULD manage 100% veg oil, mine used to but that does vary from engine to engine somehow.
best thing to do is sell it buy a v8 and gas it, much better!
loads of nice noise and affordable to run.
Range Rover Blues:
True, at the moment the 3.9 V8 costs as much to run on LPG as the TDI does and I've had so much grief with running Biodeisel that I've given up with it.
You have to watch the price though, some LPG stations have put the price up 20p in the last few months, in line with petrol, but as a percentage rise that represents 50% increase

This time of year run at 50/50 mix...in warmer weather upto 100& veg oil should be fine.
Buy Rapeseed Oil from supermarkets to begin.
Your fuel filter will probably clog after 1-3k miles as oil cleans all the crap out...carry a spare filter with you ;) unless you are RRB then carry 5! (Sorry RRB  8-[)
Make sure your glow plugs are working too as they will be needed in cold weather.
Enjoy cheaper motoring
All these V8 owners seem to forget the fact that you have to pay allot of money to enjoy the cheaper fuel...tdi's you just enjoy the saving from the first drop of veg oil
V8's are good for :-k I have no idea
Coat...........byeeeeeee :-'
