last week speeding lorrys?!
DEANO3528:
Which will cause an outside lane tailback of gargantuan proportions as every vehicle will be trying to overtake the 1 mph slower one. Then you will get the car drivers moaning even more and so more M42 style 'one lane only' restricions will be placed.
I don't agree with limiters and never will, they cause more problems than they solve.

i was on the M6 coming south nr J16 a few months ago doing about 75ish in the nearside lane (it was very quiet!!!) and an irish registered artic came tanking it past me on a downhill

A mate used to work for a big company (Excel Logistics) that did deliveries at night to various clothing stores.
They had, I think, Scania's with paper Tacho's.
He said that if you turned off the ignition when the limiter was at max then when it turned back on then straight away it overrided the max speed.
Of course the company sent a memo out to all drivers not to do this but all it did was tell those who didn't realise the limiter could be overridden how to do it

the only problem with turning the key back is if you keep doing it, it shorts the wires out
with scania's the easy way of getting over the limiter is on a down hill run is to dip the clutch then come off the clutch and back down on the gas, works better on the older ones 03 plate or older.
