last week speeding lorrys?!

i could not believe what u saw last saturday on the M25.
it was about 2:45-3:00 AM and i was driving up north to stanstead airport above london from the south.
was in the slow lane doing around 75in my skoda auto, and these lights approached fast in my rear view mirror so i thought nothing of it, until i realised what it was  :o

AN ARCTIC in the fast lane doing probably at a guess 80-85+  :o :o :o :o :o
i thought these machines were limited to around 56mph?!! was so so weird???

hmm ive seen trucks with these dodgy plates whereby if you see it in the naked light its one plate and if you shine a light on it the plate changes to a different one!

I don't know much about HGVs, but isn't there a fuse for the limiter that, if pulled, disables it? Sure I've read about one incident where someone did that. Highly illegal of course, and would show up on the tacho, but that never stops some people!

The scary ones here used to be the 7.5 tonners operated by Hippo Campo (frozen foods) - the number of times I had one of them tailgating me at 60mph. What they didn't seem to have twigged was that trying to bully a Disco out of the way is a bit of a non-starter, plus I left them standing on hills and twisty bits. ;D
