Any idea on cost.....

Adwest do the boxes.... not pumps from what i can see on their website.... thats where my current box came from.....

yeh, but what.... they're bolted up square, belt not too tight, correct fluid.... i make sure not to hold it on full lock..... got new box, and new flexi on the pipes.... what else is there??? ever since i fitted the pump, it seemed to groan a little.....
i just don;t know what it can be......
One thing i did wonder, was wether the fluid may be getting to hot..... i thought about fitting a cooler....

Groaning, I was going to ask but I couldn't think of the right word.
The PAS system has a radiator, the exposed steel pipework at the front of the engine. On some cars you see a loop under the radiator but I'm not sure LR put one on. I don't think it would hurt if you added a loop of pipe though.
Thing is if it's getting too hot (and that would cause it to pack up as the oil is too thin) then something is wrong and the groaning might be a clue.
I don't know if you are aware but the way PAS pumps are built they have inbuilt pressure relief, often the sides of the pump body are spring loaded, so if the system goes over pressure then the pump body parts.
Well mine only groans if i'm dry0steering or holding it at full lock, as it should.
if yours is groaning all the time then the system pressure is too high. You could try getting the pressure checked but I'm suspecting that the PAS box might be faulty.

The box can't be faulty, it's a brand new adwest box....
The pump that i've just taken off, was fitted at the same time as the new box, and new flexi pipes....
The previous pump seemed to groan a little, but then the box that that was fitted with failed..... this damn steering has cost me a fortune, and i'm at the point now of seriously considering selling the truck as a result, it's doing my flippin head in.... and i don't have endless cash to sort it.....
