fancy a new (push) bike

<< < (16/44) > >>

Bush Tucker Man:
Picked it up this afternoon, before the 'school-run', so not had chance to try it out properly yet.

I've only set the saddle height/setback as yet, it'll need fine tuning with a ride after work tomorrow.

I might even go throw it round the local wood, as there's a single-track running through it, & a long twisting descent down to the banks of the River Calder

Singletrack Rules !!! Better than any road ride

Not too sure about that??
I like pounding the tarmac, as I like to get into a rhthym on a decent road.

I have found out one really stupid thing about it already, wish I'd looked at it beforehand

You can't (easily) take a wheel out with an inflated tyre, as the long (ie; curved) brake-blocks are limited in their travel by the fork-blades & seat-stays
Now, that's silly!!!

Plus, to give an additional problem to the brakes, there's the stupid 'Lawyer-Lugs' on the front drop-outs, for those people (usually Americans??) who don't realise that a Quick-Release needs to be securely closed
(cue a few minutes with a File :-$)

Oh well, when the blocks need replacing, a set of Aztecs, or such ought to solve the problem???
I might get SWMBO to take the Trek to Thornes Park in the car next Sunday, just in case of puncture???
(no spare wheels......... yet........ unless an 8-speed changes adequately with the 10-speed set-up??)

Yorkshire Cyclo-Cross

I've even got a date now for this years 'Cyclists verses Harriers' at Bingley. SWMBO has just  started her running again, & has passed the comment that;
"I'll get up to speed, some miles in, a pair of fell-running shoes, run it and beat me!"[/b]

Now that's 'fighting talk' [-X

I had previously considered doing the same, doing more running, & doing it on foot this time, but signing in under my cycling club and running in their colours 8-[
