:D  :D On my way back from the Motorbike Show we were stuck in heavy stop go traffic on the M1 heading north...my mate was driving the car so I was just sat looking at the slow moving traffic using the nearside lane...I was absolutley amazed at the high number of females using mobile phones whilst driving...two in particular were driving Mercedes Benz cars...such a shame that they can afford these expensive vehicles but can't afford hands free kits...rant over

 :D  :D Smithy

Hmm onother rant at various idiots on the road thread... I'm in...

Rowan, where was this Bere Alston Jet or Morrisons Tavy?

How about this lady yesterday, stopped on medium sized roundabout to answer her phone.  Then gave some interesting hand jestures to the lorry driver in front of me when they beeped at them... I'm not certain I could translate the gestures, but would hazzard a guess at go forth and multiply with thyself you something to do with salt cellars or vinegar bottles(?)

Guess she'd heard about pulling over to the side of the road to answer the phone, just not worrying about finding a safe place first.

.......**** WARNING - Long rant to follow ...... ****

..Firstly, Guardian, how in God's name do you know that the lass who backed into your winch (..of which you must be most proud, as you reiterated the point more than once) only passed her test yesterday?!...are you psychic?...her dad?....or her driving instructor?! (...if it's the latter, it would sure explain a lot...   )

Secondly, the cheaper car insurance for women thing....on the whole the kind of claims that women submit are prangs...plain and simple. When was the last time you heard a bloke own up to bumping his pride and joy in a car park (...even though it does happen frequently! )...without going on to say that it rolled 15 times and spontaneously burst into flames?!

I hate to say it but yes, women do have a tendency to be appauling drivers ( I can quote chapter and verse on the number of altercations I have had with dizzy mares trying to kill me in a vehicular sense)...but that being said, there are a heck of a lot of appauling blokes too...they just do it more arrogantly. (...driving that is  )

I will finish this minor tyrade by saying that I have never had a car accident that I caused myself, but have been subjected to two quite serious rear end collisions, both times by blokes. I was, in the past, a professional driver for BMW and didn't have one single accident, despite being at the helm of more that my fair share of M5's and 7-series (...and making the most of all that 400bhp....) So far this year I have racked up over 24 000 miles on my current car (...a 2.0 Vectra DI...owned since feb)) all without one single mishap.....so I do kinda take umbridge at being tarred with the same brush as all the numpties, male and female that plague the roads..... and car parks apparently

.............and if you were in any doubt after all this, yes,  this piglet is a girl!!  :(mad):

daggie:
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ralph:
Must admit i thought the same a bit too much blame on women men are worse for sure.
Yes i am a bloke but big enough to admit that most women are much more careful than men.
Blokes tend too spend more time ogling women drivers than men so they are not getting the wider picture.
I also think that winches should be banned on any vehicle used on the road, afterall your hardly gonna use it there are you. How often on here do you see modded up trucks parked on the drive on a housing estate.
One more thing if you had laughed at me i would have stuck you very shiney probably unused up your rear end.
