As to drawing a line on speed, this was not a case of constant high speed but accelerating hard deliberatly to look cool.

But i know what you mean.

Difficult without being a witness but yep, if the chav was speeding they should throw the book at him........ unfortunately the book in this instance is seldom heavy enough

as for the parents taking some blame.. i agree.. but i think youll find the parents punishment already far outweighs the chavs... i wouldnt even want to imagine how much they are already blaming themselves

Cheers Steve

What the will do is seize the car and re-create the incident on the same stretch of tarmac under the saem conditions.  Accident investigators can, givent he chance, determine quite accurately how fast a vehicle was travelling should the need arise.

I think this would likely end up as careless driving (due care and attention?), in which case the maximum sentence is a fine and points, whether the child dies or not.

This area of law obviously needs revision, but people have been saying that for years and the law remains the same.

Maybe someone should E-petition Gordon about it?

An update.

The kid has survived with only minor injurys and a split skull.

The dirty chav has been let off with a warning(i could pass comment about that having a lot to do with the cps being scared of the fallout from prosecuting muslims but i wont).

So all in all not an ideal solution but could have been worse.

botts:

but WOT the the hell is going on in this bloody country
