Another question!
zulublue:
Well you lot are doing well, I have just fitted the same X-Eng thermostat and the fan does not come on, ever :!:
The first thermostat was knackered, on the second one the low side comes on about 1 second before the high, that is in boiling water.
So either my water temperature is below 88 degrees and does not get any hotter or the thermostat is not calibrated to 88 degrees and is coming on at boiling point.
Simon at X-Eng said he tested the replacement unit, but no matter what I do I cannot get it to come on, I have tested and re-tested the electics and the fan, and all seems fine. So I am now having to go and buy a thermometer to test the thermostat in the pan and somehow the water temp in the rad.
at the moment I would not even bother with one just wire a fan to a relay and switch.
gt.jacko:
I have the same x eng switch and it works fine for me have also wired an extra switch in to overide it
zulublue:
Do you think I have wired it wrongly, Si said it looks fine.
the only question in my head is will the thermostat allow a 12v current to pass through it once it is activated.
redhand:
wiring diagran looks ok,
Guardian.:
fan shouldnot becoming on this timeof year surely, especially on a derv, my v8 sits at 80 at the moment, so an electric fan will not cut in.
unless of course you are on about offroadin!
