Defender:
I've got a Kenlowe fitted to mine & if set up correctly, the fan never comes on when driving on tarmac (even in the summer). Even when sat in traffic it hardly ever kicks in as the temp never rises too high.
The only time the temp rises & the fan kicks in is when I'm travelling slowly uphill on a greenlane & the fan soon brings the temp down.

i got the standard thermostat from x-eng that they recommend, I have it on the lower setting though.  The fan only comes on while im green lanning, never seen it on whilst road driving.

I have the X eng fan switch, i used both temp switches as i have 2 fans..... i only ever get the lower temp fan coming on, and mainly when i;m off road, or sat in very slow traffic......
