200TDi exhaust question

(1/3) > >>

defuzz:
a quick question about my exhaust....

the middle box terminates in a fluted pipe with a loose collar, the back box pipe also ends in a fluted end and a loose collar, I'm having trouble getting them to join with an airtight seal, am I missing something?

Evilgoat:
I jusy did this after mine fell of this morning.

SHEDLOADS of gun gum and wind the clamp right up :)

banzai67:
not missing an olive in between the joints are we?

Evilgoat:
Thats the other possibility, or reusing a badly corroded old one. Excessive corrossion on the flutes will have the same effect too.

defuzz:
i thought it might be an olive but none were provided with either piece and none of the diagrams I've seen have used one.

Just been to halfords and they have rubber "silencer rings", do you think this is desigend to go in the exhaust or is it not an internal part do you think?
