which tyre is best compromise ??
Eeyore:
Like, many others I'd plump with the BFG Mud - it's been the optimal tyre for my needs, but the test has been far from exhaustive. They've been good in the mire, and more than acceptable on road. As for life, mine have done about 90,000 miles and they're still capable (but due for replacement soon).
Odd as it sounds, I know now of two people (Disco owners) who prefer towing on the MTs rather than the ATs. Both have claimed that under heavy loads, the tread on the ATs squidges around and makes the tyres a little 'squirmy', where as the bigger blocks on the MT don't squidge as much. Both of these guys are track racers so are pretty 'in tune' with these things. Whether mere mortals could tell the difference - who knows (without trying, obviously!)?

Anyone wanna buy some Yokohama's ?

new tyres come out cheaper than remoulds anyway.
£60 for a remould tyre, and £100(give or take) for say BFG muds that last 3 or 4 times longer.
when i was with a fencing firm, they only used BFG MUDS, they seem to do it all! 8) :D :D
