Hmm, well in theory, they are but they are not, it is a sour mash but this doesn't mean its not a whisky, sour mash is a form of whisky, the green label JD attached shows it stating its still a whisky.

Taken from my JD private collection, never to be opened....well, one day maybe !!

Thrasher:
It's a form, but very different.

Each has its merits :) I love both - but prefer a good malt!

Boggert:
I have a friend who is very well connected and he was given a bottle of of Single Malt and it was delicious   I got so sloshed on it I cannot remember the name.

However I am going to see them on the 10th so will try to find out what it was called! It was so smoothe...

DiscoveRay:
Jack Daniels is a whiskey, not a whisky - did you spot the difference :?:

During one of our (many, hic) distillery tours, we were advised not to use ice as this 'closes the aromas.' Water is fine, preferably soft and definately not carbonated, some whiskies can take more water than others.

I've got a blurb on whisky tasting somewhere, can't find it at the moment.

But, let's not be snobby, if you like it drink it :D
