Fitting bump stops - Help!
steve10:
Hi
I have lost the rear nearside bump stop and tried to fit a replacement tonight. I can't undo the nut as both the nut and bolt rotate and i can't see where to get a spanner in on the bolt.
I'm off to Wales on Saturday for some off roading (seven sisters with shire lrc) so any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Would the car still be ok to drive it off road without the bump stop?
thanks in advance
Steve
Digsit:
I had to replace both my rear ones and had to cut the bolts off.
If it was MY motor, I wouldn't chance it especially if you have larger tyres fitted
Little-Green-Machine:
the spanner fits in between the chassis and the bump stops plate, its a pig but once you get the spanner in it will come of easy enough. :)

thanks for the reply.
silly question perhaps - what is likely to happen if i don't fit it?

You risk your STT's meeting the inner wheel arch on full articulation = not good. Would be ok on the road but I, personally, would get it fitted if going to play
