[-X see yet again mick proves his point, yesterday mick wrestled with his trusty gas axe to replace my 'a' frame ball joint and other seized bushes. my boot floor has gone but its on the list of jobs which is a job that i will trust to mick, after seeing the quality boot floor in the new ruby i would be mad to go anywhere else. if land rover had spent so much time paying attention to detail instead of moaning and being on strike then perhaps our toys would last longer. it is only because of dedicated engineers like mick that we can stay road worthy. i've considered updating my disco for a newer and less rotten car, but after all the money and effort i've spent getting to know its various foibles i couldn't honestly be bothered to go through it all again. 'better the devil you know'

After reading this lot ,I know where my disco will be going for some tlc in the near future
gamekeeperjames:
this is awesome!! mucho respect to mick for putting the time and effort to restore this disco to a beaut!! i myself have been debating whether to get my disco sorted or weigh in for scrap. this thread has really added to me wanting to keep the old girl. like you say, you get attatched to the things and not just chop it in for a newer model.
nice one :D
mattyme:
absolutely fantastic thread!!
and an absolutely fantastic rebuilt ruby truck!! great work and an even better end result!!
its a pity that some people have expressed opinions, all be them entitled as they are, that are frankly none of their business.
im an advocate of free speech, but, c'mon fellas credit where its due to the excellent mechanical and fabrication skills that weve all seen here in this thread.
i only wish i had half the skill and knowledge to 'undertake' such a mammoth task.
once again.... my congratulations!!
