More door lock woes ...........

<< < (3/3)

Duckhunter:
On the Disco II if you look up where the handle is from the outside you will see what I assume is the end of the spring - press this upwards with a thin screwdriver, or a key, and then you will find there is some more "feeling" in the door catch and it will work.

Hope this makes sens and helps.

Ja1983:
mine is currently undergoing the locking refurb... passenger door only opens via pin, and good pull (SWMBO frequently left in rain when i "forget" to pop it for her)

master control on drivers door had issues, this was down to an aftermarket solenoid, which had slipped, and was all to cock.. kept locking over bumps, when you shut the door (with keys in   ) etc..

the passenger door and drivers door are down to a spring which wears, these are a **** to get at, and will be the next trip to the repairs depot....

i`m replacein the lock mechanism, the brass hinge bushes and generally lube/nipping bolts etc to restore doors to full working order (fingers crossed)

...this means removing each door, removing the door frame, popping all the rods off, fondling the mech out, slipping a new un in, re-assembling, and crossing fingers... :?

dont you just love landrovers?!
