More door lock woes ...........
Strong Stuff:
:?
I've written another Q elsewhere about a door lock solenoid behaving oddly, then today (just after I had loaded my Discovery up to the brim) I closed the rear door, and now it won't f*^$ng open again .............. Have tried it with the button up and down but to no avail, the outer handle feels different, like there is no pre load or whatever, is there a spring that breaks in these?
Most importantly ........... how the flipping heck can I open it now? I've tried climbing over all the stuff in the back and using the interior handle, nothing! :?
Please help, I'm in the doo doo here.
Thank you!

I missed your solenoid thread, but they fail fairly frequently. Maplins do a replacement which is about 8 quid, and they're easy to change.
Re your back door, I've never had it happen, but have you tried pinging out the Land Rover badge to get at the mechanism?

So I pull the LR badge and can get at the lock mechanism inside, sounds nice and secure!!
I'll get on to Maplin tomorrow for the other thingy.
Thank you kind Sir for your reply, I can go to bed much less stressed now.
Hope to be able to return the help sometime soon.

Just checked on Maplin site, can anyone advise whether I'll need a 2 wire or a 5 wire solenoid please?

Probably the spring, not the solenoid. try unlocking the back door with the key and holding the key hard over in the unlock position while you lift the handle (or pull the button up inside while you use the inside handle). The spring is about a quid off ebay, and took me 20 mins to do mine. I'll have to do the driver's door one soon too (sigh)
