If I had to spend more than £300-£400 a year keeping something on the road then I would get rid :wink:

I don't know but with a 200,000 mile jap I've never had any of those problems and I don't exactly threat it with kid gloves

Wow!!  Are you saying that at 200,000 miles you've not  had to replace any mechanical parts at all?

not a 4x4 but, my iveco turbo daily (now also in france) had over 200,000 before it had its first breakage, and that was only the clutch cable!
and that was the worlds most abused van, i never washed or serviced it from the day it left the factory except an oil change about a year before i sold it, and that was about 4 years after i bought it, and it ran on almost neat veg oil its whole life.

There was a recall on early D2's - as the flywheel was prone to self-destruction................might be worth checking to see if yours had the recall done !

Thanks for the info, I seem to remember you can check that info on the companies website. Might be worth a look
