I know what your up against, the council put in a new kitchen & bathroom 5 month ago & all the paint work in the bathroom has crack or fell off  The kitchen i'm taking back out at the latest next year to refit it properly as the benches are not level & the joiner could'nt cut straight if his life depended on it. The council have said the work was finish to a good standard

My bedroom needs in addition to the plastering: (some I have done)
All electrics redone (no earth sleeving on any connections, one loose connection on a socket, no earth at all on ligtswitch)

New upvc clad windowsill and window surround (no amount of filler is ever gonna make it look right again so I'll clad it)

Varnished floorboards, restripping and varnising to get plaster off

Skiriting sanded right down and repainted/replaced
same for the architraving

same for the doors

same for ceiling finish

annoying but its got to be done, and I'm a perfectionist too.

screwy:
TBH if it is that bad, it is easier to knock it off and re-plaster properly. A lot quicker and probably not as dear as you think....we just done our spare room, the guy came round fro a couple of hours on the way home from his 'proper' day job and plastered the lot in a few hours, £150 for cash. Would have taken me weeks to do it by sanding or even bodged plastering....

Evilgoat:
will probobly board it later tbh. need to chase in a lot of cables in the other room too (LAN, Phone, Aerial, 12V power) so that may get one wall borded off the bat.

What... you mean you are 25 stone and wearing a silly hat :O

Cheers Steve

hobbit:
Might be a daft Idea, but if you have a big cooling fan, try putting it in  a window and sucking the dust outside
