The disco's in standard form would kill the jeep all day. If you modify the jeep to the level that you can get a decent size boot on it you will love it. My cherry has 4.5 lift and clears 32. 12.50,s and what little i have done with it has made me realize what a great motor a modded jeep is.

AS stated stick 235 x 75 R15 M/Ts on the Cherry and it will be amazing

Disco's are bigger and heavier to start with I believe

Just gonna add my 2 penneth here. A stock XJ 2.5 TD with a decent set of muds on it is a great truck, and very capable.

We are on our second now, and have had very few problems with the VM Diesel. As long as it has been serviced regulaly, you should have no major issues.

We run ours on pure veg oil in the warm weather, so that tends to keep the running costs down

With regard to value for money, we have just sold our old XJ TD with a 2 inch lift and MOT til Feb 08 for the grand total of £750
