BF Goodrich tyre question
jjsaul:
ive got 245/70R16 (i moved up from 235/70 for that bit extra grip - and it is noticeable) and run them about 28psi on the front and 32 on the back. thats on a 1986 rangie.
i used to run them a bit higher but mine suffers from steering shake when you hit potholes and i found lowering the pressures in the front helps eliminate this.
this set was fitted new (first set of new tyres ive ever had) so it will be interesting to see how they last.
Wireless:
Well I've had two BFG AT fitted to the rear, it seems they had three on the computer and only two on the racks.
Handling is interesting, I'm running 28 front (Maxxis) and 38 rear currently.
At 34 rear they looked a bit under-inflated, and even at 38 rear they look under-inflated, the car handles as if the rears are slightly under-inflated.
I'm thinking that I'll prolly try 40 at the rear.
Most seem to report using 32 front, so I may try that, especially if they get 50-60k from a set.
Only major problem I now have is the front wheels now look [!Expletive Deleted!], so I'll be back to get the other three changed soon as.
Best part about the day was the price, £173.97 for the two. :D

I think you were right first time Eeyore - if BFG want to send me a set I'll put stickers on the car too - else its black side out for me!

Well I had my 4 tyres fitted on Monday and set the pressure to standard. 26 front 34 rear and while driving it felt like the front was a little under inflated. I've increased the front to 30psi but to me it still looks a little soft. Is this how they are designed to look or am I getting paranoid...!!!
Mark.

Mine look like they could do with a few more PSi, but they handle fine so I'm leaving them as is for now.............. Might well be how they are?..
