who remembers the X pack?

<< < (7/10) > >>

Vam:
I do, not cos I ever saw the series, but where we used to live (about 8 years ago) in Nottingham, there was scrap yard at the bottom of the road, that specialised in Capris.... and the guy that ran the place tracked down 2 of the original cars (Gold and Silver ones) and reconditioned them totally, they ended up with a full double page spread in "The Scum" newspaper

There was also a really bright (luminous almost) orange one (was the other owner's  I think) hideous thing!

Now it's just a normal scrap / garage dealing with "genuine japanese motor spares" :?

First car I ever drove was a Capri, was my Dads and I was 14 ( went through a phase of wanting to be a car stunt driver    )

My Dads last car was a Capri, was a big cool one with a 'blister' on the bonnet!
He got it dead cheap, as though in very good engine/chassis order had been, um well 'attacked' by the previous owners wife.  Not one panel had been spared from her keys after she found out that he'd 'entertained a lady friend'  in it

Ah the "blister" power bulge.
Mine had the power bulge with it being a 3.0. It wasn't the little one which was on later cars.

Where did you live In Nottingham Helen?
I can't remember a specialist Capri breakers.

Bush Tucker Man:

--- Quote from: "Range Rover Blues" ---Now who remembers series 2 of 'The Proffesionals'?  Bodie had the nice MkII Capri in gold with vinyl roof and doyle had the white 3.0l with X-Pack and super wide alloys.  The later didn't get used much, probably too thirsty.  I read somewhere that they had a total of 7 Capris between them over 5 series.

Is this where you read it?

--- Quote from: "muky-kid." ---another sporting classic the Fiat 2.0l Twin Cam Mirrafiori Sport now that was a quick motor. But rusted quicker than i could repair it.
My older brother had a 280 capri Brooklands that was a lovely car to drive. Dont see many Capris now :(

The Mirafiori 131 Sport :D , that was the 2-door in bright orange, black 'towelling' seats, black Alloys & Pirelli P6 tyres, & 4 head-lamps.
Nice car, my dad had a standard 131 for a while.

Italian Edition 131Sport?

The 280Brooklands was the 'run-out' model in a very nice shade of green with 7-spoke alloys.
