Ok, theres a seam there, its on the seam where upper sill meets wing. Sill is intact, its the wing thats gone/going.

Leaning towards patching it anyhow.

If it was me I would patch it, as it will only get worse, and if it was not a failure point you showed willing by doing it anyway
