Wolfie:
Couple of friends did it this year, but didn't complete it due to problems after emptying the sump mid way through one leg.

They too up Cross Country (as we mus now call it) speed events in 2005 when they decided that they wanted to do the Dakar.

What Competition Licence do you have? If you haven't yet you'll be needing to get on with it to go through the upgrade process.

It's a dream but I'm nowhere near good enough, or fit enough, to try for a while.

Plus there's the small matter of paying for it, though if I was any good I suppose sponsorship would be possible.

I'd definatly do it no questions asked!!
Bowler wildcat would be my choice!! I'd give my left arm for one :P , only i don't wana drive an auto so think i might need it!!
Only thing is there is no way i could afford the car or anything else that goes with it

So if anyone would like to buy me a bowler wildcat and pay for me to do the event i'd gladly accept the offer!!?!!

Shameless plug time.

You should go along to the Scottish Hillrally and see some in action. There should be some there.

Or a bit further from you is the Scottish round of the BORC
