new, landy classed as commercial type

ive had this before, the barrier was over and it comes down the middle of the window on mums 90..
got a letter from the council about it saying huge fines and all this.. i wouldnt have minded so much if id been trying to get rid of building rubble and that kind of thing but i only wanted to chuck a load cardboard and bottles!

I just drive in...touch me i'll have them done for ABH....after all I can prove my Landy is not for Commercial use. Far to many jumped up jobs worths in this world who don't have an ounce of common-sense...rant over... :roll:

It's the same up here - a station wagon is fine but if you dont have side windows, ie a hard top or pick up Landy then you are stuffed
If I have rubbish to dump I cant even get in with my trailer hooked up to the 110 pick up - I've got to tow the stuff there with the rangie :roll:

There's a 6' height restriction at our local tip. So you can take in an escort van full of commercial waste instead of paying at the weighbridge, but I can't take in a Disco full of garden waste.
The one time I've been there since I got the Disco, I was even loaned a nice flourescent jacket to wear while emptying it in the commercial bit free of charge. I did have to prove I lived in the borough, though - fortunately I had my driving licence with me.
My weekly contribution to the environment was a one mile round trip to the bottle bank because our council are too lazy to take glass bottles and random types of plastic in the recycling (I can recycle milk cartons, but not the tops, and I can't recycle the yoghurt pots - work that one out).

You are legally entitled to go in with the Land Rover to dispose of your waste as normal, permitting the waste is not commercially related. If they don't let you in, then you have full right to complain.
