Our local tip have a height barrier. There is a bloke that stands by it all day opening it for people in land rovers and larger people carriers. He doesnt ask questions, just opens the barrier and waves.
Damn good use of our council tax eh :(. God only knows why they dont just leave the damn thing open!

Me and dave 333 took his lifted disco and a shanky full of rubbish to my local tip and the only thing she said was that i had not run up to tell her i was coming with a trailer but apart form that no problems. Thing is i did ring her about two days before hand to make sure it was ok. :roll:

Iv'e had trouble at tips like this over a old washing machine.I own a new transit and it has a low floor so i put the washing machine in it so not to knacker my back up to much.When i got to the tip they informed me that i couldnt tip has i was in a trade motor.I told them why i'd used the transit but this jump up yellow jacket wearing moron dug his heels in and would let me tip. So off home i went load it on to the 110 csw and drove back to the tip a which point its now very busy and theres not much room to turn only to be told that no commercial motors are allowed on site so back home i went and rang the council to ask them what to do and they said take it to the tip [told them what had happened],they then said they would pick it up instead next time theres a white goods lorry in the area.
Two weeks passed as it sat out side on my drive then one sat nite it was nicked then on the monday the council rang me to say they would pick it up.

seriously though, they are people doing jobs, they don't make the Policy, they just try and do their job. If you have a beef take it to the council. Simple as... Council are there to serve the community.
Most Councils have different rules, barriers etc etc. We can expect it to get worse as rubbish is the latest TAX along with owt Green.
