For peace of mind I carry 2 BCF/Halon extinguishers, these actually put fires out and they usually stayout too. AFFF is next to useless at putting vehicle fires out, it'll knock it down for you to get out but you'll still loose the vehicle as many competitiors have found since europe banned BCF/Halon and the MSA had to follow suit.

It is now illegal to discharge a Halon Extinguisher !!!.

but if you inhale the halon you DIE and AFFF is a foam and to MSA & ARC spec but if its on fire "i wont be nowhere near the dame thing" you can always ask a firefighter what they use ?

I've used a BCF in anger. Super stuff. You'll go on a trip if you inhale it.
I've the AFF fitted to my Defender. I hope I don't have to use it as I'm told it's not a good as BCF.
Do not get a dry powder one. It might work if you're lucky. The powder packs dow because it gets shaken when driving. I'm told that doesn't happen woth the newer ones but I',m not prepared to find out.
