enough other people seem to get away with it  :(

Hangover:
I'm glad Ebay are pulling auctions with 'advertised elsewhere' in the listing, most of the time it isn't advertised elsewhere and the item is being started off at a low price with no reserve ,so what happens when you put a bid on thinking you may be up for a bargain hey presto the seller withdraws it and says this item is no longer for sale.

Range Rover Blues:
On the flipside, as a seller and a buyer I get thoroughly p*ss*d off with snipers.

As a seller I want bidders to express an interest early, but I end up with dozens of wathcers who all bid peanuts at the last minute.

If it was a real auction the auction wouldn't end just as it gets interesting, it would keep going 'till the bidding stopped.
As a buyer I've got sick of being outbid with 4 seconds left to go.

So I put that my item is advertised elsewhere simply because if no-one is going to express an interest then I'm not going to turn away a genuine customer just becasue he is stood in front of me with money in his hand rather than on t'internet.

AbyssDJ:
sniping is a rubbish tactic anyway if you ask me.  as a buyer if you just put on what you want to spend, then its all ok. if you lose, no big deal.

want a REAL hint? if you wanna spend 300 quid... go a BIT more and put 310 on it. then when it gets to the end and someone thinks they'll snipe you by puttin on 300 quid, it just wiped them off anyway :P done it LOADS of times

All depends what your selling as to what sort of intrest your going to get, bread and butter stuff is 10 a penny on Ebay, you can guage the amount of intrest by the amount of people who ask the question'have you a buy it now price?'.
