ebay removed listing

Range Rover Blues:
Did that with the LSE I'm breaking, mine for the princley sum of £1,021.

Quite a lot for a scrapper?

Well it's got a J.E. 4.6 long engine in it, complete with re-mapped ECU and it's only done about 20 thousand miles.

Mudlark:
Yeah I had that as well and it really P'd me off, bet you had a free listing as well eBay just want you to spend a further £8 with them.

When I asked why mine got pulled for using a line that 95% of listings used I was told:

With regard to your concern about sellers listing other items in a
similar fashion to yours, I understand your position. Let me assure you
that you are not being targeted or discriminated against, and that we
value having you as a member.

With over 1 million active listings at any given time, it is not always
feasible for us to be aware of all violating listings within the time
frame of some auctions. This is why we rely on members, such as
yourself, to report these listings and bring them to our attention. As
such, you will see items on the site currently in violation of our
listing policies. However, when we receive reports for these violations,
we fully investigate each report. Listings that are found in violation
are dealt with appropriately.

For future reference, please report any questionable listings you may be
concerned about using the following URL:

Heard someone else got pulled for saying "not landrover, suzuki, toyota" as it was classed as spamming. (doa a search for Myford lathes and see what you get)

As I said I don't think it had anything to do with eBay policy just a way of getting you to relist and pay out the £8 listing fee

Yoshi:
It actually is their policy and always has been their policy, it means someone has reported you for it.

I think ebay are right, how are they to be taken seriously by buyers if sellers are pulling the auctions, its happened to me once when i bought a car and was going to collect it but the seller had sold to someone off ebay.

redhand:
At last Ebay see sense.

The other thing that really gets my back up is when someone posts something for sale as been for a friend most of the time thats just a get out clause for selling garbage then when you contact the seller it's a case of sorry mate nothing to do with me.

That and pretending to be a private seller when you've watched em sell half a doz landys in the space of a couple of months. It's so obvious and it's like their saying HEY I think your all stupid so I'm gonna sell you this heap of junk for 3 times what it's worth. Trust me I'm a fellow landy lover.

Yup, agree totally. I also tend to find a lot of the people who add in the "listed elsewhere" clause also tend to add in the "remember your bid is legally binding" line somewhere too. So the buyer is legally bound but the seller isnt :P
