Landrover 110 station wagon
William:
Hi guys just wondered what a 300tdi 110 station wagon would be like on fuel? what about around the town? and also on the motorway? whats its most economical speed? Also roughly what speed to expect without thrahsing it on the motorway. The landy itself would be around the N or P pale. thanks guys xx

From what I've heard (I've got a TD5 myself):
15ish mpg in town maybe
25ish motorway if you're gentle
seem to like cruising at about 60-65 on the motorway although 40-50's a good speed for economy on any other road.
Hope that helps :) Obviously all these figures vary a lot (my own truck gets 20mpg if I'm doing 80 and 26 if I do 70, although I'm not exactly light on the pedal ;))

You'd get a bit more than that...
My 300Tdi 90 does anything between 25 and 30 depending on how I drive it... 24/25/26 is about the average... or lower if towing or crusing above 70 mph on the motorway. I have seen 28/29 at best when staying at 65mph on the motorway on a longer run.
I used to get the same out of my 200Tdi 110 CSW....

This is my 300Tdi 110 fuel usage over the last 40,000 miles. I run 235/85 BFG ATs and generally tavel at 55-60mph where appropriate. The peaks and troughs are summer/winter consumption.

I have a 1998 (R reg) 300tdi 110 hardtop.
My engine is totally standard. Over the summer i have been averaging 29 mpg, with a range from 27 to 32.
In the winter however i have been averaging 26 mpg, ranging from 25 to 29.
Hope that helps
Matt
