MOT Question / appeal

About 4 years ago my Disco failed on brake pads, I got new pads and fitted them but the old ones were nearly the same thickness as the new, so after the tester passed the motor, I asked him why this would be..... his answer was "We have to fail them on something". :shock:

I go elsewhere now.

Load of non-sense you don,t have to fail them. If they pass they pass if they fail they fail. I,m a mot tester and i try to be has fair has possible cause i would not want to get ripped off.
  But i now what you mean i work at a dealer and the amount off other,s that fail excessive ITS CALLED A BONUS SCHEME

I got told by an MOT'er that prop UJ's weren't tested, mine passed with a really bad UJ the other week.
