Whats the thoughts of everyone re: the off road days ? The ones that are 'playdays'.?

The reason for asking.... well it seems that there are not that many on here that 'do' these days ?

I should think just about all of us love greenlaning. But the 4x4 playdays seem a little different.

Whats everyones opinions ?............

I don't do many because there are seldom any close enough to be worthwhile.  I tend to get a bit bored at Pay & Play types days, as there is very little "purpose" to it... once you've driven round the site once, then that's about it.
I'd much rather go and do a challenge event or something similar.

That's just me of course, plenty of people enjoy them, and they are usually well booked up.

But where do I look to get into the challenge events and similar ??

I dont know where to start.
I figured that me mate and myself would at least gain a grounding and a base knowlage wise with the pay and play sites, and whilst I enjoy them I need more of a challenge / competition.

But where do I look ???

muddyweb:
Ahh, well.. that's a different question.

I don't know what is around your area, but there is a very active challenge group called "Challenge South West" down here.  They run events for all levels of people.

A good place to start would be the Devon 4x4 forums, there are a lot of challenge people there and they might be able to give you some pointers to events in your area, or if you don't mind travelling the CSW events are usually listed there too.

There is a midlands off road club. I have the link stored at home. I will post it later.
