broken bleed nipple

<< < (3/3)

muck_truck:
can you not get hold of the bleed nipple with a pair of mole grips and get it out ?  then just replace the bleed nipple.  Had to do this on mine altho couldnt get hold of it properly so had to take the caliper off first

discomac:
tried that mate, even tried an extration tool, nowt will shift it,been told i can bleed it via pipe goin into caliper, done that but when i stand on the brake pedal it slowly goes down,i take it that means theres still air in the system

muck_truck:
may be worth taking tha caliper off and putting it in a vice if not done already ?

i coudlnt get mine out when it was on the axle.  Put it in vice on the bench at a nice height it will come out with 50% less effort.  but if you have tired to drill it then mole grip method wont work  :)

dont think bleeding it from the pipe going int the caliper would work as there could still be air inside the caliper.

discomac:
thats what i was afraid of,ive had it off and tried again, snapped the extraction tool off inside now, reckon its about dead, what do u reckon

discomac:
well,i reckon i might have saved this caliper with the help of a mate from riverside all terrain,he told me above the bleed nipple theres a nut u can bleed from, and after loads of swearing at it i got the nut out a put a bleed nipple in,im having a bash at the other rear caliper now
