juddering and clunking ?
extreme90:
rite, after a 2nd opinion now
when slowing down from above 30mph i get a judder from what seems to me the transfer box, but with the judder theres a clunking aswel,
it only happens when slowing down from speeds above 30 mph, it starts as soon as the needle hits 30
now as the speed drops, the judder stays the same, but the clunking gets closer together as the speed drops
now, it isnt u/j's as i replaced them all monday
no pinion bearings gone,
no bush's warn as all replaced with stock items as the polys got eaten away
a-frame isnt loose
break isnt binding
wheel bearings all tight
normal play in front o/p shaft
now methinks it transfer box
any other ideas before it comes out ? and ill replace that damn whining gearbox aswel  and look see why my clutch slips
chears guys

Tinks:
Does it do it all the time when your slowing down or when your braking?
If not then i reckon your on the right track. How old is the clutch? :?
extreme90:
well.....
it does it when breaking or coasting
no matter if in gear outta gear, foot hard down on clutch, its there
o also tried sticking center diff in whilst on move see if it goes or not, no difference
tried sticking diff locker in to eliminate that, still same
now for the clutch, its done 600 miles, changed it for a h/d as the stock item cant cope with the power output from my 200tdi
after speaking to simon (d44), i got him send me over the same clutch as he used in all his tweaked tdi man challenge trucks, and its only been the last 200 miles or so its been slipping real bad when up to op tempreture
but have noticed from warm, the vehicle judders like mad when pulling off if not careful on clutch
afink its all interlinked :?
its bit of a arse tho as i just cant put my finger onit

lenrover:
The juddering would suggest to me a contaminated clutch plate
extreme90:
which would be causing the slipping
but still doesnt explain the judder and clunking when slowing down from above 30mph
it does it in gear or out
btw drain plug is oil, no oil leaking and theres new seals in slave cyl
