Not necessarily...
I go and watch "Delia's Army" when I get a chance - generally when they're playing an away game within an hour or so of Sheffield. They don't get on TV much (even when they play Chelski!), so I don't watch much sport on TV. Parking the 90 amongst the tractors has a certain charm!
Hopefully we'll stay in the Championship this season!
I do like "Life on Mars" though
Apparently it's up for a couple of awards at the TV Awards.
Cheers

--- Quote from: "Pete" ---Dougie Lampkin. I must really be getting old. I remember Martin Lampkin. Anyone remember Les Boocock. Speedway and trials rider?
Pete.

Dougie's only about 30
Martin is his coach as well as being dad, there was also an Arthur Lampkin, who was Martins brother
I didn't realise that Dougie actually had 12 World Titles, I knew he was a MBE though

However, my 'top of the tree' is the Tour de France.

Years ago when I had a 'proper' job I used to get well pee'd off during the b****y world cup. I had the sort of job that didn't end at 5 o'clock, if anything it was getting busier and we were expected to stay until it was done. Except during the world cup, we wern't trusted with keys to our own office so one of the management had to lock up after we had gone. We got chased out of the office so they could go home and watch 'the beautiful game' even if we were on the 'phone to customers. It was b***y annoying. Thing is a couple of weks later when I grabbed my coat at 5 every night I got numerous accusing looks, until someone asked me where I was off to.
"tour de France is on", well they all knew I was seriously into cycling at the time so it got left at that, but the double standard annoyed me and that's why I hate football, it's the attitude that it's the only game that matters.
IT'S JUST A GAME, like Dominos
My mates and I came to an understanding about sports, basically if you can DIE in the persuit of doing it, then it's a sport.
Motorsport, yeap
Cycling, yeap
Rugby, open to debate actually :?
Sailing, yeap
Rock climbing, yeap
Football, never, ever in a million years, it's just a game!

While in Paris with my dad many moons ago we got to watch some of the Tour de France up close and personal like........... unfortunately it was a bad experience for us that day........... my dad was pick pocketed on the underground (they only got his keys which they threw back with a look of disgust when they realised it wasnt a wallet) and on returning to our camper on the banks of the river Seine we found it had been broken into and the only thing the damn thieves took was my brand new calculator which I had owned for about a week and which was the first one I had ever had bought :(
Range Rover Blues:
They don't like to admit it but the french have a worse problem with youths than we do :(
