Supercharged Diesels

LR don't make a supercharged diesel ... it's just a twin turbo V8 ..... not supercharged - there is a big difference.

Superchargers and turbos are different.

The VW Race Taureag is a supercharged diesel (2.1ltr IIRC) - might provide some interesting pointers. It's outputs are about the same as Mitsis 4ltr v6 in the Paj Evos.

A lot of the big industrial diesels are supercharged too. And often two stroke, so that might not help!  :?

Yes you are correct, for some daft reason i was thinking the TDV8 was supercharged....but thats the petrol v8, as you said the diesel is twin turbo.

Superchargers and turbo's are indeed different, but not by a huge ammount at the end of the day they both provide forced induction, just different ways of getting it and different characteristics from each source.

Confession time, I've been chatting with a few folk about super-charging a 300tdi. It seems highly feasible using some very simple bits and a bit of well-applied thought.

Needless to say, research is ongoing

.....but sourcing the blower is remarkabley easy.  :wink:

What blower are you looking at using eyeore? Is it somthing like the one from a SC mini?
