what did you actually tow it with? heavy duty rope or something?

well the usual 1.5 inch tow ropes are usually rated to 12 tonnes...so double em up or get slightly thicker ones...

A Series 1 did that when the Series 1 was in production. ;)

I can remember seeing a picture in a brochure of a police 90' pulling a artic and trailer down the motoway, i just cant remember what the slogan was now....... :oops:
Range Rover Blues:
A friend at college was into heavy haulage and in one of his book was a funny story about a very large load going north on the A1 (IIRC). For dsome reaosn it had to stop near the bottom of a long hill, not steep but slightly beyond the restart abbility of the 2 heavy trucks in charge of the load. With traffic building behind the outfit the policeman at the scene flagged down a series Land Rover that was going the other way, it was coupled to the front prime mover and the extra horsepower tipped things in their favour, the load began to move.
How cool would that look for a publicity photo, it was a well oover 100 tonnes and being pulled by a series.

Richard, it was also laden to over 7tons to help maintan traction
